Launch Ceremony of AISS Research in Mashhad. Iran

On February 23, 2020, the launch ceremony of the research “Political Settlement and Post-Conflict Order in Afghanistan People’s Views” was co-organized by the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) and the Institute for Central Asia and Afghanistan Studies (ICSA), in Mashhad. In addition to Director of AISS, Abdul Jabbar Ansar, Consul-General of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (IRA) in Mashhad, Rezaief, Representative of Ministry of Foreign Affair of Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI), Mahmood Afkhami, former Consul-General of IRI in Herat, Sayed Ahmad Fatami-Nejad, Lecturer at University of Ferdawsi (Mashhad), and Hussain Rahimi, Deputy Cultural Consul-General of IRA in Mashhad, and a number of local experts and academia participated in the program. The program was moderated by Jawed Hussaini, researcher at ICSA.

At the beginning of program, Abbas Fayaz, Director of the Institute for Central Asia and Afghanistan Studies spoke about the importance of Afghanistan-Iran relation, followed by speeches by other speakers of the program, and introduction and critique of the research “Political Settlement and Post-Conflict Order in Afghanistan People’s Views”.

At the end of the program, a memorandum of agreement was signed between the two organizations by Dr. Davood Moradian, Director of the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies, and Abbas Fayaz, Director of Institute for Central Asia and Afghanistan Studies for future bilateral cooperation for scholarly exchanges, regional conferences and joint research activities.
